Amanda Y. Kim’s tailored expertise in litigating disputes ranges from product liability cases to broad commercial litigation. She has defended and represented both international and domestic manufacturers of various products, including but not limited to, tires, excavators, wheel loaders, lathes, battery cells, microwave ovens, refrigerators, water heaters, and numerous other commercial products. Ms. Kim’s practice also includes premise liability defense litigation, general commercial and contract disputes, and industrial warranty and sale-of-goods matters.
Ms. Kim’s fluency in the Korean language has allowed her to effortlessly serve the Korean insurance industry by facilitating a better understanding of the U.S. litigation system and streamlining the discovery process in complex litigation matters, particularly with regards to the general product liability area. Ms. Kim wholly understands the cross-cultural challenges resulting from the disparate business and legal systems in Korea and the U.S; a knowledge which allows her to navigate and directly work with Korean defendants to develop cost-effective and successful defense strategies. Ms. Kim has also assisted Korean companies on various legal matters, including but not limited to applicability of coverage under liability policies and legal review of technical product documents.
